Biography

James Kavanaugh is an Instructor in Radiation Oncology, joining the faculty in 2014.  He earned a M.S. in Medical and Health Physics from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2011 and completed a residency in medical physics, CAMPEP accredited, at Washington University in 2013.   He is certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology. James’s clinical responsibilities include directing clinical physics coverage across 6 satellite facilities in the Washington University network.  His research interests include development of automated clinical tools, including knowledge-based planning, semi-automated contour QA review, and adaptive radiation therapy.
