The Department of Radiation Oncology Clinical Trials Group

Washington University School of Medicine is one of the world’s leading centers in patient care research, and our staff is always engaged in investigation to help develop new methods of treatment.

You may be invited to participate in clinical trials during your course of treatment. Clinical trials are research studies that have been reviewed for scientific merit and ethical conduct by the Siteman Cancer Center’s Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee, and Washington University’s Institutional Review Board.  These studies are important to improving our ability to cure patients with cancer.  Your willingness to participate is greatly appreciated and may reward patients in the future.

Any study you are asked to take part in will be fully explained. If you agree to participate, you will be asked to sign forms giving your consent to participate. You will never be placed in a study without your knowledge and written consent and you may withdraw from the study at any time.
