Biography
Hua Li, PhD, DABR, joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington University in Saint Louis in 2021 as a professor. Previously, she was a Research Associate Professor in Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and a Clinical Medical Physicist at Carle Foundation Hospital (2019-2021). She was also a faculty member in WashU’s Radiation Oncology Department from 2010-2019. Her research focuses on medical imaging science, image analysis, and artificial intelligence for clinical decision-making and personalized medicine. Her work has received support from NIH, NIBIB, and the Department of Defense. Dr. Li has been an ad hoc member of several NIH study sections and serves in the NIH Clinical Translational Imaging Science study section as a chart member, the Steering Committee for the NIH/NIDCR Advancement of Head and Neck Cancer Early Detection Research, and the Steering Committee of the NIH/NCI Early Detection Research Network. She is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), and the International Society for Optics and Photonics.
