Hua Li, PhD, DABR, is a professor of radiation oncology. She joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington University in Saint Louis in 2021. Before joining Washington University in Saint Louis, she was a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and a Clinical Medical Physicist at Carle Foundation Hospital at Urban, Illinois, IL from 2019-2021, and a faculty member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington University in Saint Louis from 2010-2019. Her research work focuses on developing novel medical imaging and image analysis techniques to solve the challenges seen in clinical practice and improving personalized patient care. Her work focuses on four topics: deep learning for clinical decision-making, medical imaging and image restoration for clinical application, task-based medical imaging assessment, and improvement of radiation treatment on cancer patients.
