Biography
Jennifer De Los Santos, MD is a professor in the department of radiation oncology. Dr. De Los Santos is a nationally recognized expert in breast cancer although treats a wide array of cancers with a current clinical and research focus in cancers of the head and neck. She has led national studies in breast cancer through the TBCRC and NRG oncology groups and served in leadership roles at the TBCRC, the University of Alabama at Birmingham and as the Chairman of Radiation Oncology and Cancer Center Director at Grandview Cancer Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. De Los Santos received her undergraduate degree in psychology at Emory University and her MD at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. De Los Santos’ research interest includes the development of paradigm shifting treatment approaches across several cancer sites, and translational work to define populations who may successfully proceed with these approaches.
