Biography

Dr. Naoshad Muhammad is an instructor of radiation oncology in the Cancer Biology Division. He completed his postdoctoral training with Julie Schwarz, MD, PhD, at Washington University School of Medicine. He graduated from University of Pune, India and received his PhD degree in Biotechnology (Cancer Biology) in 2015. His current research interests include the development of comprehensive understanding of factors associated with obesity, such as circulating FFA and their dynamic changes in FFA uptake that occur in response to radiation. In order to understand this phenomenon, his ultimate goal is to identify a dietary supplement or drug that can be given to patients that will promote treatment sensitivity. He is also actively serving as an associate editor for many peer reviewed journals including Cancer Cell International, BMC Cancer, Lipids in Health and Disease, BMC Molecular and Cell Biology, Cell Biology International, and BMC Research Notes.
