Biography
Sharbacha S.N. Edward, PhD, joined the physics faculty in 2025 after completing residency here at WashU Medicine, where she served as Resident Co-chief during her second year.
Originally from Vieux-Fort, St. Lucia, she migrated to Chicago where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2014. She then had a 2-year stint as a Clinical Physics Assistant here at the Siteman Cancer Center, before leaving to pursue her PhD in Medical Physics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Edward’s graduate research was done at the Imaging and Radiation Oncology Core (IROC) quality assurance center at MD Anderson. This work focused on quantifying the various sources of error found among IROC phantoms irradiated by the radiation oncology community and earned her the ESTRO-Jack Fowler award in 2022.
Her clinical interests include brachytherapy and quality assurance improvement in all aspects of clinical workflow.
