Washington University radiation oncologists work alongside community medical oncologists and surgeons to provide patients with state-of-the-art clinical care at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Washington University School of Medicine’s Department of Radiation Oncology has provided exclusive full-time radiation oncology services at Alton Memorial Hospital since 2016, with the department’s Medical Physics Division providing full-time services to AMH since 2014. The radiation oncology program at this location was initially established in 2005. Gregory Vlacich, MD, PhD, a Washington University Physician and member of Siteman Cancer Center, serves as the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at Alton Memorial Hospital.
The Cancer Care Center at Alton Memorial Hospital has demonstrated compliance with the standards of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Accreditation Program for Excellence (APEx), and has received a four-year accreditation of its radiation oncology services through this program. It is the first cancer center in Illinois to receive this recognition.
